Cadence

Two posts a week for weeks 1 to 10, then one a week

The first twenty posts are the launch order below. Weeks 1 through 10 ship two posts a week; from week 11 the cadence drops to one a week so that each post can carry original working detail rather than a rewritten summary of the last one.

We publish the calendar because a content plan that only exists internally tends to drift into whatever is easiest to write. Putting the next eighteen titles in public means you can hold us to them, and it means a reader who wants the post on costing fit-up on a weldment knows it is coming rather than guessing.

Titles will change as they are written — a post frequently turns out to be two posts, or to be wrong about its own premise. What will not change is the order of the topics or the standard applied to them.

Who this is for

Who we are writing for, and who we are not

The reader we have in mind is a shop owner, an estimator or an operations manager at a US job shop, machine shop, fabricator or contract manufacturer with somewhere between three and a hundred people. They already run an ERP or a job-tracking system, their front office runs on a shared inbox and a quoting spreadsheet, and they are not looking for a strategy essay about the future of manufacturing.

So the posts are written the way a plant manager would want them: the problem stated in concrete terms, the arithmetic shown, the fixes ranked by payback, and a clear statement of what the approach does not solve. Where a post uses a number as an illustration, the assumptions behind it are on the page so you can substitute your own and see whether the conclusion still holds.

We are not writing for enterprise multi-plant OEMs on SAP or Oracle, for process manufacturers running recipe-based batching, or for distributors who need a warehouse management system. Some of the material will still be useful to those readers, but the worked examples are not drawn from their world, and we would rather say that than pretend a single article serves every manufacturer.

The other audience worth naming is the person evaluating software. Several posts on the calendar exist because the honest answer to a buying question is longer than a feature table. Whether to fix the front office or the shop floor first, for example, is a question we answer the same way whether or not the answer points at us.

How a post gets written

Where the material comes from

Most of what appears here starts as an argument inside the product. Deciding whether to cap revision history, how to structure a cost buildup, or whether an approval rule should block a send are all decisions that required us to work out what a shop actually does. The writing is a byproduct of having had to be specific.

The rest comes from conversations with shop owners and estimators, which is also where most of the numbers come from. When we say a two-estimator shop can realistically quote around twenty-two of forty weekly requests, that is a figure drawn from those conversations rather than a published study, and the posts say so rather than dressing it up as research.

When we get something wrong we correct it in place and update the modified date rather than quietly rewriting history or leaving a stale page up. If you find an error, particularly on anything involving tax, compliance or a competitor claim, tell us and it will be fixed.

Standards

Four rules we hold ourselves to

  • No invented statistics — Where a number appears it is either from our own product, from a source we name, or an explicitly labelled worked illustration with the assumptions on the page.
  • Named sources only — A customer appears in a post only when they are named and have approved it, with their own numbers. No composites, no anonymous quotes, no stock logos.
  • A named boundary in every post — Every article says what the approach does not do. A piece that only lists benefits is marketing wearing an article's clothes.
  • One byline — Everything is published under The KanchanFlow team. We do not invent an author persona, a job title or a credential that does not exist.

What we will not publish

  • Listicles assembled from other people's articles without original working detail
  • Case studies about customers who do not exist, or composites presented as real
  • Benchmark numbers we cannot show the derivation of
  • Anything that would need FAQ schema to be worth publishing — if the answer only exists to be marked up, it is not an answer
  • Competitor claims we cannot substantiate from something that vendor published, with a date
