PPAP for automotive tier suppliers
This feature does not exist. Assembling and tracking a PPAP submission is a real need for automotive tier suppliers and it is on our Wave 3 list with no committed date.
In short
PPAP for automotive tier suppliers is not built. The intent is to assemble and track a Production Part Approval Process submission package against a customer part inside KanchanFlow. It is a Wave 3 item with an H2 2027 direction and no committed date, and it is not something you can buy or use today.
Where this actually stands
PPAP is the automotive industry's evidence package that a part can be made repeatably to specification: the control plan, the process flow, the FMEA, the dimensional results, the material certifications and the part submission warrant, assembled and submitted to the customer for approval. It is a substantial documentation exercise, and it is repeated for every new part number.
For a supplier into an automotive tier, assembling that package is a fortnight of work per part and tracking its approval state across dozens of parts is a spreadsheet job. We think a CRM that already holds the part, the drawing revision and the customer relationship is a reasonable place to track it. We have not built any of it.
Capabilities
What this would cover if we build it
What is intended
Track a PPAP submission per customer part: the submission level, the documents required, which are complete, and the customer's approval state.
Linked to the part and drawing revision
A PPAP is against a specific drawing revision. The link to revision management is the reason this belongs near the CRM rather than in a shared folder.
What we would not do
We would not generate the FMEA or the control plan. Those are engineering documents produced by your quality team; we would track and package them.
Enterprise scope
If built, this would be an Enterprise capability alongside ITAR, USMCA and Buy America, matching how those compliance modules are tiered today.
What we would need from you
The control plan, process flow, FMEA and dimensional results are produced by your quality team. Any workflow we build tracks completeness and submission state against a drawing revision; it does not author engineering documents.
Step by step
Where the work stands
There is no workflow to walk through yet. This is what the current position actually is.
- 1
Nothing works yet
There is no PPAP functionality of any kind in the product today. This is a stated intent on a public list.
- 2
We are listening to tier suppliers
The scope will come from suppliers who live with PPAP submissions, not from reading the manual, and that conversation has not concluded.
- 3
It depends on Wave 1 foundations
Drawing revision management and the immutable audit log both have to exist properly first, because a PPAP without revision integrity is meaningless.
- 4
Status would change here first
If it enters development it gets a milestone on this page and a changelog entry when it ships.
What this is not
This is not available, and KanchanFlow will never certify your PPAP — we are the CRM, not the certifier, and a submission's acceptance is your customer's decision.
This is not an ERP, MRP, CAD, BOM, or advanced CPQ system — it manages customer RFQs, quotes, follow-ups, and order handoff.
Tier availability
What you get on each plan
These rows come from the same feature matrix the pricing page publishes. If the two ever disagree, the matrix is wrong and we fix it.
| Plan | Availability |
|---|---|
| Starter | Not built. If built, it would follow the Enterprise-only compliance module tiering. |
| Professional | Not built. If built, it would follow the Enterprise-only compliance module tiering. |
| Enterprise | Not built — planned for Enterprise alongside ITAR, USMCA and Buy America. No committed date. |
Starter is $39 per user per month, Professional $49, Enterprise $99 plus a $2,000 monthly platform fee. Annual billing is 17% lower. See the full matrix.
Interface
What it looks like
No screenshot. There is nothing built to capture.
We do not publish mockups of unbuilt features as if they were interface captures.
No screenshot. Sample tracking, in development for Wave 1 Milestone 4, is the nearest live workflow.
Placeholder retained so this page's structure matches every other feature page.
Screenshots are described rather than mocked up. Captures are taken from the build current at the date shown in the changelog, on a sample workspace.
